A 1994 Toyota Supra movie car from “The Fast and the Furious” sold for $ 500,000 plus $ 60,000 in auction fees at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The car was driven by the late Paul Walker in the 2001 film that started the “Fast and Furious” franchise. According to the listing, it was used for indoor and outdoor shots and then repurposed for the character Slap Jack for the sequel “2 Fast 2 Furious”, the listing says.
Craig Lieberman, technical advisor to “Fast and Furious”, whose own Supra formed the basis for the movie car, has stated that many of the leftover cars from “The Fast and the Furious” have been reused for “2 Fast 2 Furious”. For example, Johnny Trans black Honda S2000 from the first film and Suki’s pink S2000 from the sequel are the same car.

Movie productions usually build multiple copies of each car, and they don’t all look as beautiful as the on-screen version. This Supra looks just the thing though, with a Lamborghini Diablo Candy Orange Pearl paint job, “Nuclear Gladiator” graphics, a Bomex front spoiler and side skirts, a TRD-style hood, an APR aluminum double-decker rear wing and 19- Customs Dazz Motorsport Racing Motorsport Hart M5 Tuner Wheels. Despite the flawless finish, this car was used for many stunts, say auction spokesmen in the video above.
This car also left the factory with the 2JZ-GTE with 3.0-liter in-line 6 with twin turbocharging, albeit coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission instead of a manual transmission. This is not uncommon for movie cars, where the ease of use exceeds what is presented on the screen.
The retail price is a big step up from the $ 185,000 paid for an authentic Fast and Furious supra in 2015. Two decades after the premiere of the first film, the ninth part “F9” is due to hit the cinemas on June 25th. Fast and Furious “saga will finally end in 2024 after two more films.
